15. Do you think the title fits the book? Why or why not?

I think that the title fits the book because Jeffery Magee earned the name "Maniac" by doing things that were almost impossible. Also I think that the title fits the book because that's what everyone from both sides of town were calling him. Thirdly it is a good title because "Maniac" means an insane person and that's what Maniac Magee did.

The character that I chose was Grayson. I chose Grayson because he was a kind and generous man. He was kind because when Maniac was living at the zoo Grayson offered Maniac to stay with him. Also Grayson told Maniac stories about his baseball career and how he was in the minors. He also bought Maniac a lot of things and he also gave Maniac money to buy food. Grayson didn't know how to read so Maniac taught him how to read.

Theme Post 2

Maniac Magee is a book with many themes. One theme is kindness. Kindness is one of the themes because Maniac Magee was homeless and was living at the park zoo and Grayson took him to his place to get a shower. Also when he was in the East End the Beale's took him so that he could live with them. Another reason was when Grayson gave Maniac Magee a place to stay instead of the zoo.

Maniac Magee was a kind person because he cared for other people if they needed help(Spinelli 19). He lived with his aunt and uncle but after that he ran away because he didn't like how there was always two of everything and that they wouldn't get along(Spinelli 6). After he lived with them he decided to go find a new home, so then he ran all the way to the East End(Spinelli 7). He borrowed a book from Amanda Beale so that he could read it(Spinelli 13).He got the nickname "maniac" by all the people in the town(Spinelli 28). Maniac Magee gets introduced to the Beale family(Spinelli 41). Mr. Beale takes Maniac back home but since he doesn't have a home Mr. Beale takes him back to their house to stay(Spinelli 43). Maniac was allergic to pizza(Spinelli 49). After he went to church he likes to stand and shout "Hallelujah! Amen!"(Spinelli 51).
